Shader Models Explained

Shaders are small programs that alter pixels or vertices. Uh, what? Ok, they’re those things that make water look like water, or glass look like glass in any computer game you care to think of. They’re fairly complex things, and Windows Vista will bring a new ingredient to all of this with Aero: your hardware will be rendering your desktop.
