Windows Graphics Foundation 1.0 and 2.0 explained

nsiders in Microsoft call WGF 1.0, DirectX 9.L, where L possibly stands for Longhorn. We know that WGF works with DCE, Desktop Composition Engine the low level layer that uses 3D hardware to compose all windows in the back buffer to perform the flip.
